Hank KlingerBTC Salesmen Registers Bitcoin’s Name and Iconic Logo with the Spanish Patent OfficeBitcoinExchangeGuide

Bitcoin’s name and the famous logo with a letter ‘B’ encircled within an orange are now registered with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark filed by Ignacio Rubio Menéndez, a compliance expert specializing in business law.

The compliance expert confirmed the same and said:

“I now have the logo and the word ‘bitcoin’ registered at the national level in the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office. Anyone can access the records, as they are published daily and for all audiences.”

Menéndez, who also claims to be a Bitcoin salesman, explained that he wanted to protect bitcoin from scammers. With this patent, the investors looking to invest in bitcoin would know that he is a genuine salesman and won’t fall for scams. He explained:

“I am a Bitcoin salesman, I have a buying and selling office, and the idea is to protect Bitcoin, at least in Spain. So I stand up for the brand and take responsibility that any new user can feel 100% safe working with me and away from the scams that name and use ‘Bitcoin.’”

The compliance expert-cum-bitcoin salesman claimed that his only motive to register the logo was to protect people from scammers so that if someone dupes customers in the name of bitcoin, he can sue them for infringement of the trademark and use of the logo without his permission. He also clarified that he has no intention to proclaim to be the original creator. He said:

“I am not a fake Satoshi; I have just registered the ownership and legitimate use of the logo and the word. If someone misuses it, I will defend it.”

Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudo-anonymous creator of bitcoin in its white paper, mentioned that the bitcoin network would be open source and decentralized, which means the core code can be used by anyone without the need of original creator’s permission. Nakamoto was very adamant about keeping bitcoin decentralized so that no one can put a claim on the Bitcoin network.
